Thomson Park & Chatswood Oval Projects
Matrix Group Co. were appointed to deliver simultaneous projects under a joint contract with Willoughby City Council for works at Chatswood Oval and Thompson Park.
Chatswood Oval Maintenance Shed - The works at Chatswood oval included the demolition of an existing brick toilet block and the construction of a new maintenance and sports storage facility.
Chatswood oval opened to the public in 1900 and currently serves as the home sports ground for Gordon Rugby Football Club and Gordon District Cricket Club. The project includes the demolition of the existing brick toilet block in the south west corner to allow for a new maintenance and sports storage facility.
Thomson Park Pavilion - The Thompson Park project is located on a sloped site, adjacent to Artamon Public School. In such close proximity to the school, the project site will see school kids walking to and from school each day (Mon-Fri). The park was developed into a sportsground and playground in 1928. It has since been upgraded to a synthetic turf and is regularly used by a number of sporting clubs and Artarmon Public school. The existing amenities building was out-dated and is being upgraded with a new building to meet the ongoing needs of the community it services.
